1. Acceptance of Terms
Welcome to Sunset Sentinel. By accessing and using our API deprecation monitoring service ("Service"), you accept and agree to be bound by the terms and provision of this agreement ("Terms of Service"). If you do not agree to these Terms of Service, please do not use our Service.
2. Description of Service
Sunset Sentinel is a notification service that monitors public API documentation and change logs from third-party providers to identify deprecation notices and deliver them to users via Slack integrations. Our Service includes:
- Automated monitoring of supported API documentation
- Curation and approval of deprecation notices by our team
- Delivery of relevant notices via Slack webhooks
- User dashboard for managing subscriptions and settings
3. User Accounts
3.1 Registration
To use our Service, you must create an account by signing in with your Google account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.
3.2 Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use our Service. By using our Service, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms of Service.
3.3 Account Responsibilities
- You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account
- You must provide accurate and current information
- You must promptly notify us of any unauthorized use of your account
- You may not share your account with others
4. Acceptable Use
You agree to use our Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree not to:

- Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers connected to the Service

5. Service Limitations
5.1 Availability
While we strive to provide reliable service, we do not guarantee that our Service will be available 24/7 without interruption. We may temporarily suspend or restrict access for maintenance, updates, or other operational reasons.
5.2 API Coverage
We monitor a limited set of API providers and cannot guarantee comprehensive coverage of all API deprecations across the internet. The selection of monitored APIs is at our discretion.
5.3 Notification Accuracy
While we make reasonable efforts to provide accurate and timely information, we cannot guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of deprecation notices. Users should always verify important information directly with the API providers.
6. Slack Integration
Our Service integrates with Slack through webhook URLs that you provide. By configuring Slack integration, you acknowledge that:
- You have proper authorization to configure webhooks for your Slack workspace
- You are responsible for managing access to the Slack channel where notifications are sent
- We are not responsible for Slack's availability or functionality
- You can disable notifications at any time through your dashboard
7. Privacy and Data
Your privacy is important to us. Our collection, use, and protection of your personal information is governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
8. Intellectual Property
8.1 Our Content
The Service, including all software, text, images, and other content, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.
8.2 Third-Party Content
Deprecation notices and API documentation excerpts are sourced from third-party providers and remain the property of their respective owners. We provide this information for informational purposes under fair use principles.
8.3 User Content
You retain ownership of any content you provide to us (such as Slack webhook URLs and subscription preferences), but you grant us a license to use this information to provide our Service.
9. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability
9.1 Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
9.2 Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL WE BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR USE, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.
9.3 Maximum Liability
OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL DAMAGES SHALL NOT EXCEED $100 USD OR THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO USE THE SERVICE IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, WHICHEVER IS GREATER.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, damages, losses, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from or relating to your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of another party.
11. Termination
11.1 Termination by You
You may terminate your account at any time by contacting us or by revoking access to your Google account. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will cease immediately.
11.2 Termination by Us
We may terminate or suspend your account immediately, without prior notice, if you violate these Terms or for any other reason at our sole discretion.
11.3 Effect of Termination
Upon termination, we will delete your account data in accordance with our Privacy Policy. Some provisions of these Terms will survive termination, including disclaimers, limitations of liability, and indemnification.
12. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms of Service at any time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms on our website and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
13. Governing Law
These Terms of Service are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States and the State of California, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising under these Terms will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in California.
14. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect, and the invalid or unenforceable provision will be replaced with a valid provision that most closely reflects our intent.
15. Entire Agreement
These Terms of Service, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and us regarding the use of our Service and supersede all prior agreements and understandings.
